Team CV's and Qualifications

Villene Alderslade

Villene qualified as a physiotherapist from the University of Pretoria in 1992, and since then, she has built an extensive career rooted in the management of musculoskeletal, orthopedic, and biomechanical dysfunctions, particularly in sports injuries. Early in her career, she developed a keen interest in helping athletes recover and perform at their best, leading her to specialize in this field.

Her active participation in a wide range of sports—including long-distance running, mountain biking, spinning, river canoeing, sprint canoeing, weight training, Pilates, netball, and later, golf—has deepened her understanding of how to adapt physiotherapy treatments and training programs. Villene focuses on helping athletes train smartly and recover efficiently, minimizing unnecessary downtime and promoting long-term health.

Throughout her career, Villene has had the privilege of working with various teams and sports individuals across different disciplines, including long-distance running, rugby, soccer, ballet, netball, canoeing, triathlons, and youth golfers. This hands-on experience has given her a broad understanding of the unique needs and challenges of athletes at all levels.

Villene is committed to lifelong learning, continuously enhancing her skills through a wide array of continuing education courses. She has researched and implemented various therapeutic techniques and tools, allowing her to offer the most effective treatments for her patients. Her passion for advancing knowledge culminated in the completion of a master’s thesis at Stellenbosch University, focused on finding solutions for lumbar pain in young golfers.

Now in private practice, Villene treats a variety of musculoskeletal and biomechanical injuries, specializing in sports-related and spine injuries. She also dedicates time to mentoring and training fellow physiotherapists, sharing her expertise and passion for rehabilitating and correcting movement patterns. Her focus is on helping individuals maintain health and performance, especially in the aging body, which is often challenged by the demands of sports and daily activities.

With a deep commitment to evidence-based practice, Villene is always striving to stay up-to-date with the latest research and techniques in the field, ensuring that her approach remains grounded in the most current, proven methods.

Christelle Deetlefs

Christelle’s journey to becoming a physiotherapist was fueled by her lifelong passion for sport and her deep compassion for people. From a young age, she competed in a variety of sports, excelling in athletics, tennis, and netball, and proudly representing her province and country. This firsthand experience of the challenges athletes face, both physically and mentally, ignited her desire to help others recover from sport-related injuries and enhance their performance.

Christelle’s holistic, well-balanced approach to life reflects her commitment to spreading positive, empowering energy to those around her. She believes that nurturing both the body and mind is key to healing and personal growth.

Her current practice focuses on the management and rehabilitation of orthopedic, musculoskeletal, and sport-related injuries across a range of activities, including athletics, tennis, netball, padel, squash, golf, hiking, running, boxing, CrossFit, and gym training. One area of particular interest for Christelle is the treatment and management of shoulder injuries, an area she has developed significant expertise in over the years.

What sets Christelle apart is her deep understanding of the physical and mental challenges faced by individuals who participate in, or compete in, their chosen activities.

Through a combination of personalized care, empathy, and continued professional development, she strives to provide holistic, patient-centered treatments that address the unique needs of every individual.

Christelle’s approach to physiotherapy is a blend of evidence-based practice, ongoing education, and a genuine passion for helping people achieve their goals—whether it’s recovering from an injury, improving performance, or simply leading a healthier life.

After earning her B.Sc. in Physiotherapy from the University of the Free State in 2015, Christelle completed her community service year at Ermelo Provincial Hospital. In 2017, she joined the Alderslade Physiotherapy practice, where she has become an integral part of the team, contributing to the practice’s growth and success.

Christelle’s dedication to refining her skills led her to complete a Sports Physiotherapy (SPT1) diploma in 2019. This post-graduate qualification strengthened her expertise in identifying, assessing, treating, and rehabilitating common sporting injuries, which further enhanced her ability to deliver top-quality care to athletes of all levels.

Elzanne le Roux

Elzanne graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 2008 with a deep desire to make a difference through healing. Her guiding motto is simple, yet powerful:“Mobility is life, and life is mobility.”

She began her career in the UK, working in elderly care, where she developed a strong foundation of empathy, patience, and hands-on experience. When she returned, it was with a renewed heart—to serve, to restore, and to connect with each person she treats.

Over the years, Elzanne also spent time consulting at a private sports institution in Stellenbosch, where she sharpened her skills in sports rehabilitation and injury prevention. Her focus has always been on understanding the root cause of pain or injury—not just treating symptoms—so her patients can return to what they love, stronger and wiser.

An active sportswoman herself, Elzanne is passionate about movement. She enjoys open water swimming, mountain biking, padel, running, hiking, and Pilates. Her personal experience helps her relate deeply to the emotional and physical challenges of recovery. She knows how frustrating it can be to be side lined by injury—and how important it is to stay active and balanced.

Elzanne brings compassion, skill, and intention to every treatment session. Her approach combines physical touch, education, and personal compassion. She believes healing is both a science and a calling.

At home, Elzanne is a proud wife and mom to three energetic boys. With a gentle and caring spirit, she finds joy in the simple things—mountains, rock pools, fynbos, and fireside conversations. Her faith is her foundation. She believes in the faithfulness of God to heal through her hands. Every day, she lives with purpose, guided by love, grace, and a commitment to the healing journey of others.
